My students qualify for special education services. They have a variety of disabilities including specific learning disabilities and emotional disturbances. Our school is a traditional comprehensive high school campus located in a very poor area of the city. Most of our students live at, or below, the poverty level. Though our school qualifies for extra funding due to the low-income population, most of this funding gets spent in areas such as class size reduction, and special programs. Funding for technology is spent in areas such as overhauling the antiquated WiFi system and purchasing equipment for the new Smarter Balance testing. For these reasons, I am turning to Donors Choose to find funding for my project.
