My students are in a specialized classroom in Hillsboro, Oregon. Many students are eligible for special education services under the category of autism spectrum disorders. We focus on communication and social skill strategies to help gain student independence in the classroom. That's the official description. More personally, my students are extremely bright, love to interact with everyone, enjoy reading, art and singing. My students are fascinated with technology. Often they can navigate through iPads in a quicker pace than I. My students are in Kindergarten and First grade. Their race and economical demographics vary.
