As a certified biology, chemistry and English as a second language teacher, remote teaching has been a real challenge not only personally but for my students. This iPad will allow me to teach in a smarter more efficient manner in order to help bridge my students educational gaps. This iPad will be a crucial tool while teaching language through science. My science learners would benefit greatly from me having an updated iPad Pro with sound and video capabilities and the ability to multitask so that I can record video lessons and demonstrations as well as meet with them for online virtual lessons. With this iPad, my ELLs will be able to see me while I teach my live lessons, which is important while learning how to pronounce words. The Apple Pencil will allow me to write on the screen while I teach, which comes in handy while annotating texts, conducting various reading strategies and providing translations between first and second languages. When we are finally able to return to ‘normal’ school, my ELL science students will greatly benefit from an iPad in our classroom to complete a variety of activities and assignments.
