We are trying to find new and engaging ways for our students to pick up books and read. One of the ways we are doing this is by starting a summer reading program where our students can earn a free book by reading books over the summer. Since so many of my students come from a low-income family, I want to find a way to put a brand new book in their hands that won't cost the family any money. These are new young adult books to help engage students in reading. With introducing new books and new authors, my goal is to help many of my students find a passion for reading.
