Literature can be a struggle for students. In a world of visual stimulation, the English classroom has not been enough to interest this generation to greater learning. This is where Design Thinking comes in. Combining literature and design, students will choose a conflict from the story, brainstorm a solution, create a design for a prototype, and test out their designs. The supplies will give them materials to work with and will provide a visible solution to literary conflict. By creating these solutions, students will use analytical skills to think beyond the text. The real world skills they will develop will transfer to college and career.
