My students love to learn through the use of technology. Through the wonders of the internet, my students get the opportunity to enhance their learning through tools such as Kahoot, Bulb, Schoology, as well as the myriad of apps that Office 365 can provide for them The use of apps gives my students interactive ways to practice literacy through interactive readers and an online textbook. This text book helps students practice skills such as annotation and provides supplemental material that pushes their thinking to the next level by making connections to real world examples. My kids also receive the opportunity to work on their writing skills by allowing them to keep online journals or blogs. These blogs are their creative spaces where they can explore the many different aspects of written rhetoric and its uses. Finally, my students will get the opportunity to practice digital citizenship. Through the use of these computers, students will be able to learn how to safely navigate the internet and use the myriad of tools to further their education. They also will learn to differentiate between reliable sources and those that are misleading when conducting research.
