Teaching in a low income/high poverty school district has many challenges. However, teaching special needs children in a low income/high poverty school district can feel impossible because of the many challenges these students are faced with. My students have disabilities that include, emotional disorders, hyperactivity disorders, sensory processing disorders, and learning disabilities. The one balance ball chair we do have in our classroom has been a great success. I have 14 special needs students and one balance ball chair. This creates additional problems in the classroom because every student wants to sit in the chair. The balance ball chair helps stimulate the students and regulate their own behavior. I am asking that every student gets his or hers own chair everyday .However, I truly need your support to make this happen.
