My students all hail from an urban district with the state's highest unemployment rating. The challenges they face are only compounded by the failure of the state to provide promised funds to the district. Everyday we, the students and I, struggle to break the cycle and overcome the challenges we face. Your help could make the critical difference in the ultimate success of students for years to come. Update: The projects funded so far have been having an amazing impact on the students. In the last year I have watched their confidence grow, and they have raised their scores on the state standardized test by an average of 2 points. Doesn't sound like much, but it means it is working.
