My classes are highly motivated and excitable 6th grade students. We are faithfully building a class library through book orders, as we can afford. While we are very fortunate to have a great facility we are not always supplied with customary school supplies - even the basics are purchased by faculty and students. With a poverty rate in the 70% range few items come from home. My "home port" class is adopting an elementary grade class, as our little buddies, to read with and do fun activities. Many of these students have limited experience with supported, hands on learning, which many of them excel at - we have the hands just not the project materials. Students continue asking for "real" hands on materials - craft supplies, Lego design/ robotics kits and more books for our class library. We are grateful for anything that helps us learn in a new and exciting way.
