At our school, we strive to support the environment in any way we possibly can. As we looked at ways to expand our environmental magnet focus, we decided to look into ways we could help the bee population flourish since they play a huge role through pollination of many of the plants that we consume. After discussion with a professional beekeeper, we decided to construct a bee apiary on our school grounds which would not only benefit our numerous school gardens but also the farming community around our school. The beekeeping suits are an important tool our students will be able to use for protection as they learn more about the bee colonies through hands-on experiences while also sharing their new knowledge with others.
