The seventh and eighth grade students on our rookie First Tech Challenge robotics team need a few more parts to add to the base competition kit. The initial kit provides the basics to build a functioning robot, but realistically not much more. With the addition of a few more parts the options and opportunity the students have for creativity expand drastically. Some of the parts requested here are arguable necessities for a team, such as extra batteries, while others will open up new design options for the students. The linear slides will give students another avenue to explore in constructing the manipulator arms of the robot, while the tread kit provides an alternative to standard wheels in navigating the terrain of the play field.
