Our student body is almost 100% Hispanic and most come from homes where no English is spoken. They are eager and bright but at different levels of interest, experience with science, and language proficiency. They love to do lab activities. Several watch science-related shows on TV. Our school is strictly a middle school, serving only students in grades 6, 7, and 8. We are in a large, urban district. Ours is a small school and with the recent drastic budget cuts, our budget is focused on maintaining staff, focusing on serving students.

About my class
