This is how we will use these two book sets... Our students are split into three separate reading groups based on their reading levels. This means we try our best to differentiate our materials to suit their needs. Currently we have a middle level gap in appropriately leveled texts in these two topic areas mentioned above. This year we're building on our required curriculum to extend learning through more engaging texts. We are seeking these particular texts not only because these texts are quality YA literature, but also because they match our curriculum and fill the middle level gap. These texts will help us achieve our goal to develop our students' depth of knowledge on the topics. Increasing depth of knowledge helps strengthen their overall comprehension of the topics, and allows them greater opportunity to access prior knowledge as they progress through the unit material.
