Most of my students come from rural poverty. We have around 80% free and reduced lunch. Many of our students suffer from trauma and abuse in their home life. School is sometimes the only place they can go to feel safe. We have free breakfast every day in our classroom. I always save the leftovers from the morning so they can take them home when they leave. We nourish our kids with food and knowledge.
