Donations to this project will allow students to have hands-on experience in the understanding of the world around them. These materials (sesnors, LittleBits, Switch Modules, and wire cables) will allow students to create technology tools that they would otherwise have no access. They will use these tools to gather data and create solutions to community problems. The material will be able to be adapted by individual students to gather exactly the data that they need. The knowledge they will gain will help them understand the skills needed to be a problem solver and allow them to create solutions for community problems. Examples of projects could include: creating a motion sensors to measure traffic patterns on campus. Creating a moisture sensor that could report when sprinklers need to be turned on or off. Creating an LED strand that changes with sound levels. Along with many other applications students can create. With these materials and the ability to modify as needed the materials will be usable for multiple years and multiple groups.
