My kids are pretty cool. Most come from poor homes as we are highly socio-economically disadvantaged. So many things they experience at school are likely more "cool" than many of them get at home. We have a great bunch of kids that give as much as they have. I have found music and art to be extremely awesome outlets for many of my students to express themselves. I hope to continue to provide opportunities for them to find my class a place where they can have fun, learn many new things, and gain a wealth of experience. Research concludes that students that participate in music are more confident and smarter than those not in music. Music works all aspects of the brain at once, as well as, putting kids in positions to have to practice and perform in front of peers, thus gaining skills such as confidence and work ethic.
