Most of my students are economically disadvantaged, at an even higher average than our school district and even in the state of Texas. Many students are on the Free and Reduced Lunch Program. Art supplies are expensive, and would put a strain for even basic supplies required for other classes, like graphite and colored pencils. I want to make sure my students get the best education possible, but it is important to make sure they are set up for success. To help set them up, I need a variety of paint and brushes to teach color theory. My students need pencils, graphite and colored, to teach line, value, shape and form. I also have many students that require slightly modified lessons, to meet their specialized educational requirements. The construction paper will help meet these goals.
