I teach environmental science at a low income school in Tulsa, Oklahoma. I want to give my students a way to engage with environmental science that will excite them, but also give them a comprehensive understanding of how the environment is changing. They will be using this book as a source of information to back up their claims, presenting over chapters of the book, and writing a comprehensive paper over it. A rich understanding of the environment is becoming more and more important as climate change becomes a greater issue and threat. I want my students to walk away from my course confident that they understand the complexities of climate change and will be able to help lead the conversation about it one day here in Oklahoma.
