Sitting in the same chair for six hours a day is not an ideal learning environment for young students. The flexible seating options would allow my students to move throughout the day and pick the seating style that fits best for them. This would give my students choice and more of a say in their learning, which will help them take more responsibility. My young students will benefit from the yoga balls, because they will allow them to bounce instead of fidgeting with things in their desks. Their will help them focus more on that task. The wobble stools with help my students who need to move around in their chair. Chairs do not move well, but the wobble stool will. The portable desks and cushions will allow for students to move around the room to find their quiet space. This will allow them to concentrate and complete their work. The wobble cushions will help my students with sensory issues, stay in their seats for longer periods of time. This project will also force my students to be more organized because they will not have a home desk to keep their materials. The students will have to keep all their supplies with them, which will need to be organized when they choose their seat. Flexible seating will give the students an opportunity to collaborate with more students throughout the day, which will improve behavior. Every child is different and learns in their own way. Providing them with the perfect learning environment will allow them to be the best student possible. Our students are the future and we need to make sure we set them up for success.
