Adding a 3-D printer and scanner to the class will allow me to build lessons in which students can design, scan, and even write code, to develop 3-D projects and connect the math that this requires. Hands on STEM lessons are both engaging and effective for students as they gain real-life math applications. This will also allow for some cross-curricular projects with science and project-based learning opportunities. Lessons regarding plane and intercepts are often difficult for students to comprehend. By allowing them to create these concepts in 3-D will build understanding. This will be both fun and educational for students.
