Often times my students are antsy. They tend to fidget with their hands, distract themselves, and occasionally violate personal boundaries. Hopefully with this project it will help them stay engaged and feel less fidgety! Studies have shown that people who need to be moving while learning can concentrate better when they have something to manipulate with their hands. Not only will this help quell distraction, but it helps my kinesthetic learners focus on the task at hand. Being able to move parts of their body without distracting themselves, or other classmates is the biggest reason I'm asking for a Wobble chair, magnetic base ten blocks, pattern blocks, 6 sets of fidget and Tangle Brain manipulatives, and other resources. Having these tools in the classroom will help make learning and teaching much easier. These manipulatives will help keep my students physically occupied so they can be mentally available. Another great resource for students who need them! It's always nice to have safe hands and be productive!
