I teach in a junior high school (7th, 8th, and 9th graders) in a suburb of Salt Lake City. While the student body is quite diverse, twenty to thirty percent of them are eligible for free or reduced lunches. It is a goal of mine to provide the best opportunity for students to gain the love of music by playing their band instruments. One way to do this is to provide them with the best instruments and/or supplies in order to make this as easy as possible for them. My school, South Davis Junior High School, was built in the 1960's. I still have many of the original instruments and am expected to pass these on to the students to use. Most of them are falling apart. Donor's Choose is an excellent way to access donors looking for opportunities who wish to donate directly to classrooms. Please support my students.
