This scanner will allow my students to have access to more resources to enhance their educational studies. History is the study of past events through many sources. Access to these sources is imperative for me to get my students where they need to be. We can talk about history all day and not grow as learners. It takes resources to facilitate our learning. My students should not be denied the equal opportunity to grow because they do not have the resources.
As our classroom transitions into the digital age many historical sources get left behind. Many books and documents are simply too fragile or rare to provide each student a copy for personal use. This scanner will allow these documents to live in the digital world. Accessible to all, wherever they may be. Our class uses a digital space for materials, assignments, and collaboration. I must get access to these sources for my students when they are outside of the classroom. Much of our learning incorporates the use of laptops and cell phones. Digital access to these documents drives student inquiry inside and outside the classroom.
