Students will research diaries and how they have chronicled events in history, sometimes more accurately than the scholarly books. Students will see how historical events affect the lives of "real" people, as it were, without the filters of government narratives or the agendas of groups, political or otherwise. Students will then apply this knowledge by chronicling their own lives in this "plague year". Aside from expressing their own opinions, emotions and so on, they will also be demonstrating their skills in writing; i.e. figurative language, grammar, syntax etc. All entries will be bound as books and all 7th graders will receive a copy.
