I teacher over 100 students at Life School Oak Cliff Secondary School in Dallas, Texas. My students are mostly in 9th grade, but I also teach AP Biology with juniors and seniors. My students come from south Dallas, and most are from lower-income, minority families. We are in a public charter K-12 school campus in a district of seven schools with two of them being high schools. Our campus is twenty-five years old. My students enjoy using scientific tools and observing things for themselves. Our scientific equipment is "weathered" and lacking in quantities. Some of our greatest needs are classroom-quality microscopes, quality prepared slides, and finances for more consumable supplies for labs.
