My students would make use of the compost bins, 3D pens, and swivl during our enrichment block. Last year the most popular enrichment classes were architecture club and composting/gardening club. The students created models of buildings from around the world using LEGOS. During the composting/gardening club they beatify the school's garden with herbs and different types of lettuces. One of the problems we noticed was that our soil is not rich in nutrients so it made it very difficult to maintain and for plants to grow. So we started composting using regular bins. This was a problem as they broke apart fairly quick. These materials will facilitate their learning. The Leap Personalized Learning Challenge is a great motivator for supporting my students in their new student-led journey by allowing them to explore certain interest they have during enrichment. They will be excited to create with the 3D pens, recycle by composting, and make how to videos with the Swivl!
