All of my students love to work with LEGOs and iPads. With LEGOs and iPads my students can work on telling a story by building the setting and characters. Because my students are mostly ELL and lack a strong foundation in vocabulary, descriptive writing is very challenging. With this project's LEGOs and iPad the students will be provided an engaging way to work on the skills they desperately need. Providing my students with a chance to combine their love of technology and tactile play/creation activities to support their literacy development will ensure that the necessary motivation is behind the learning. The students will work with the iPad in combination with the LEGOs to create stop-motion films telling stories verbally to increase both their speaking and listening skills.
