As a drama teacher, you may think "What is it they are doing?" Well, we are playing! Imaginative play is the simplest form of drama there is- and it's a great way to describe my classroom. We use our bodies, voices, and imaginations in playful ways to create versions of existing stories or new stories of our own! We problem solve, collaborate, and create on a daily basis. We read, we sing, we dance, we draw... we do it all! The key is our "safe space," meaning that students can feel free to be silly without feeling like others will make fun of them. Because of this integral expectation, we are the most creative we can be!
