The Promenade Model Railroad Club is a student-to-student mentoring club designed to help at risk students become more involved in the school culture. Our focus is to provide opportunities for students who struggle socially and academically iat school. We aim to develop a growth mindset and to students foster positive peer relationships. In doing so, we desire to give struggling students a means to connect to being at school that is non-academic, hands on, and socially inclusive. Club members will work collaboratively in planning, developing, and building modular model railroads that can be shown and operated at district events. They will participate in real world problem solving through trial and error as they learn basic wiring, model making, working in scale (1:160), and learn that their efforts are valued in a group setting. Thank you for your support. Mr. Bernard, 4th Grade Teacher.
