This year our K - 8 school implemented a positive behavior intervention system (PBIS). It has really made a difference!
Our first school store was a big success. Students spent their “bluejay bucks” on many age appropriate options. We will continue to reward the students throughout the year. They deserve it. We keep count of the total amount of “bluejay bucks” awarded and the number shows that we have great students who show positive behavior in the classrooms, hallways and playground. It will bring a smile to their face and brighten their day when they come to the PBIS store and see that there are more fun items to choose. I hope they will look forward to being in school every day and continue to be the best students they can be!
It will make a difference in my classroom as well as school wide. Often times, students' positive behaviors go unnoticed. I want to reward my students' good deeds with these items.
Choosing school supplies as an incentive item promotes the idea that education is important as well as fun. I want to provide a variety of items that will reward students for their good behavior while also motivating them to continue with positive academic behavior.
