My students come from low-income families and cannot afford to bring to school basic supplies to keep our classroom clean and healthy. We need tissues for flu season and Clorox wipes to clean up STEM activities and keep our school healthy. We need pencils and dry erase markers to support our scientific inquiry and differentiated learning in our classroom. We also need color pencils to help bring our projects to life with vibrant colors. My students benefit from the use of anchor charts, and markers make these charts engaging during instruction. These anchor charts help students unlock prior knowledge from prior instructional periods.
