The first thing I chose was the LEGO WeDo 2.0 starter set. My students will be able to take their design ideas off the computer and apply them to their creations. Not only that, but they'll then be able to code those creations into different movements and operations. My hope is that this will provide them a tangible example of how their coding can influence the world around them. The next item was a 3-D printer. None of my students have used one before, so this will be as exciting for them as it will be for me. Students will b able to use the software to design any idea they have, then use the printer to bring that creation to life. Again, this provides students with real-world solutions to design problems. The new printer would allow my students to expand their knowledge of computers, programming, and 3-D printing, in general.
