My current classroom has an extremely wide variety of reading skills. For some of my students, this is their first school experience in the United States and they are just beginning to learn the English alphabet. Some students of mine comfortably read intermediate chapter books. Since I serve students who have a wide range of reading levels, I need a large variety of books to fit their needs. Our school has large reading achievement gap in the upper grades. My hope is to use this project to get my students -- especially my students reading below one or more grade levels -- excited about reading. With new titles and the fresh smell of books, everyone will want to spend more time with their noses in a book!
