My students are in need of a comfortable space to be able to focus on their work daily, as well as the opportunity to complete community service through crafts. The chairs I have requested will allow students, who are in one classroom for the entire school day, an opportunity to be able to sit comfortably in a private workspace in order to complete their work. They currently have stackable plastic chairs which are difficult to sit in and focus on their work for an entire day. In light of the pandemic, this will help them get more work done so that when school is not in session, they will not fall behind.
The craft material will allow us to complete community projects and the games will allow them to learn how the market works. They both will be used to learn team building skills and interpersonal skills. This project will allow the students to be rewarded for working hard and give them an environment as unique as their education experience in the Alternative Education Program.
