I employ the Reader's Workshop model for literacy instruction in my classroom. Reader's Workshop allows for differentiation because each student reads at their just-right level. Moreover, it is a very engaging model because students can choose books that interest them at their level. Currently I have very few nonfiction leveled books at the K-1 level in my classroom library. I want all my readers, regardless of level, to enjoy choosing from a wide selection of books at their level in the classroom library. Your donation will help struggling readers fall in love with reading because they will have the power to choose books that interest them. These readers often have a negative attitude towards reading. It is my hope that through an ample selection of books at their level, my students will "catch the reading bug."
