Students will have the choice of three new seating selections. Students love sitting in different areas of a classroom. Many students choose to sit next to their friends. What could be better? It would be awesome if a student could pick a portable lap desk and write any where in the classroom. They could choose to read or buddy read in a comfortable bean bag or rocker chair. While I have focused mainly on flexible seating, I have also asked for fifteen copies of the book, Wishtree, by Katherine Applegate. I use a variety of novels during the reading workshop and this book would be a wonderful addition to my classroom reading workshop library. I also have students read: The One and Only Ivan by Katherine Applegate, Flora and Ulysses by Kate DiCamillo, The Boxcar Children by Gertrude Chandler Warner, The Littles by John Peterson, and The Hundred Dresses by Eleanor Estes.
