I work at an inner city Magnet School for students 6th-8th grade. The student population is about 750 with about 90% African American and a high population of free and reduced lunch. The students must maintain a 2.5 GPA in order to remain at the school. That means my students usually perform well academically. When it comes to Social Skills they are no different from any other adolescent trying to figure out who they are and where they belong, which is why I would like to address the issue of Self-Acceptance and Conflict Resolution.
