There is great power in taking a break in a positive peaceful space. Our Peace Nook provides a safe space for children who are struggling with their classwork and academic expectations. This nook provides soothing smells, soft chairs and pillows, calming music and sensory materials that will help my students build up the stamina needed to make it through the day. The Peace Nook provides a sensory-rich space where students can take a break, do something other than schoolwork, and reset their minds. This time allows students to get back on track and ready to tackle the school day. The Nook services 295 children. It a safe haven for what can be a very stressful day for adolescents.
