Last year Boston Public Schools asked students to engage in a new, digital curriculum. This curriculum exposes students to diverse texts while leveraging technology and media to support and inspire them in their academic pursuits. It's adaptable, interactive, and relevant, and the students have already shown so much excitement when given the opportunity to use it. When the pandemic hit and our schools closed, we sent all of our older Chromebooks home with students so that they could engage in online learning. The last year and a half has caused quite a bit of wear and tear on these machines, and most of my students started this school year with broken computers. Engaging in this interactive curriculum is one of the first steps in giving our students the education they deserve. I am hoping to give all of them equal access to the rigorous and compelling materials the curriculum has to offer, and I thank you for helping us make great learning possible for all our Boston students.
