McKinleyville Middle School is located in Northern California. We are a relatively small middle school with a very close community feel. Our school offers sixth through eighth grade studio art classes and an advanced eighth grade entrepreneurial art class. The studio art classes include ceramics, drawing, painting, collage, and sculpture. Our entrepreneurial class teaches students to learn the process of making sellable art. Students will create a business plan and will produce a specific amount of work that they will sell during an art event at the end of the trimester. Our goals in art: Learn fine art vocabulary and use while making and writing about our art Learn various artist mediums Learn how to express our selves as middle school students through art Learn problem solving and critical thinking skills through art Make fun, exciting and creative art projects!
