My classes are for 7th and 8th graders. As elective classes, we are highly inclusive, having students with a range of abilities including special needs. The need for differentiated instruction is essential. My students are digital natives, technology is their way of life. We are a suburban school district that prides itself on cost effectiveness. Therefore, budget constraints in the elective areas puts a strain on our departments ability to keep students engaged with the latest and greatest technologies.
