Our classroom is located in a high poverty area on the Mescalero Apache Indian Reservation. Many of my students are beginning their school experience without the necessary background knowledge and stability at home to provide a solid foundation for learning. Most of my students are entering school well below the grade level expectations in reading and math. While they are in my classroom, I do my best to provide them with fun, meaningful, and engaging learning experiences to help close this achievement gap and give them a brighter future.

About my class
