My students are hungry for more books. We are in the first year of a new school and do not yet have a school library. However, my students are curious and enthusiastic about reading great literature. I have been dedicated to building a classroom library by bringing as many books into the classroom as possible, and in the past few months, even the most reluctant readers have learned to develop a habit of reading. They would read a book whenever they can, whether it is waiting for pickup after school, transitioning from one class to another, or during recess. As a result, their spelling and writing skills have improved tremendously. I have witnessed how students can make progress in virtually all subjects by becoming better readers. To be motivated to read more, my students need intriguing, well-written books.
