My library serves everyone in the school community! Every six days, over 800 children from Kindergarten through Grade 8 are welcomed into the space. It is important the the room is a haven for all of the readers who come there. Who doesn't remember finding exactly the right spot to read? Maybe it was a quiet corner in a bedroom? or even a tent in the yard? Or a comfy chair in a family space? My youngest readers need cozy spaces to curl up with a good book. Currently my tiny readers have two choices: the reading rug or chairs that are designed for middle schoolers. This grant can change that! Wiggle pads and comfy cushions will allow my emerging readers to find that "just right spot" in our library to enjoy a book. Selecting their cushion and its location offers powerful choices to my emerging readers.
