My students consist of 25 spunky first graders with a desire for hands-on learning. They are very inquisitive and I have many kinesthetic and tactile learners this year. There is never a dull moment in my classroom and the students love showing off their creative abilities. We pride ourselves on thinking outside the box and expressing our learning in a variety of ways. I have a diverse classroom, consisting of students from several different ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds. I currently have several students in Speech and Special Education. We call ourselves the Dream Team and promote kindness and family values. My school is very innovative and always striving to try out new ideas to best serve our students and families. We are one of the larger schools in our district and considered a high poverty school. The teachers are very dedicated to our students and provide both educational and social experiences to promote success for our students in the classroom and real world.
