My junior high school is alive with beautiful possibilities. Many students are enrolled in the free and reduced lunch program (92%). Many have Spanish as their first language. Many have a difficult time imagining a future beyond their rural town but for those who dream big, they will be the first in their family to attend college. A new school is to be built in the near future to replace the present inadequate facility. As for now though, students work in rooms with ripped curtains and tables with holes in them.
