"Life is like a camera. FOCUS on what's important. CAPTURE the good times. DEVELOP from the negatives and if things don't work out, TAKE ANOTHER SHOT." For my teacher's wish, I want to equip my classroom with state-of-the-art photography equipment that will enable all of my students, not just some of them, to truly experience the thrill of what it means to be behind the camera. Unlike traditional school subjects where text books provide the bulk of the learning that students experience during the school year, no such thing exists for photography. Due to this, I am imparting my professional expertise to fill in the blanks but am limited to what I can help my students create without the proper equipment and photography tools. Photography is a hands-on subject that requires multiple pieces for it to work and be able to be implemented. Funding for these much needed supplies will allow the lessons I teach to not simply be theory, but actually things my students can put into immediate action. I work hard to make the lessons fun, engaging, and educational while also helping to paint a picture for them of what is possible if any of them would like to pursue a professional career in photography later on down the line. In a world where it's becoming more difficult to find the bright spots and the pieces that are beautiful within it, I am helping my students create and capture moments of joy, bliss, and beauty by the images they capture.
