Every child needs a chance to discover the mathematician in them, engaged in learning about the world around them and bursting with individual creativity! My students at our STEM magnet school have an innate desire to inquire, explore, and discover. They want to discuss their findings, sharing with others a collaborative process to build a collective understanding of math. The students at my school do face challenges. Our student need (represented by our free and reduced lunch numbers) has increased greatly over the past few years, and our school budget has been cut significantly during this same time. Our school's technology-poor classrooms are not preparing students for this reality. The learning and communication technologies need to be in the hands of our young students.

About my class
