I strive to create a classroom community among my students. A vital part of creating this community is our seating. Currently my students sit at their own desks. This can make it difficult for them to share supplies, creative problem solving ideas, and friendship! Small group tables would allow my students to feel a sense of community in our classroom. It would encourage them to work as a team, support each other, and learn together. I often tell my students we are a classroom family. Table seating would further support this idea and create a family of learners in my classroom for years to come!
