With a class of such diverse and unique students, meeting the needs of every single one of them can sometimes be a challenge. The range of math skill levels in my classroom is very diverse so allowing them time to practice the individual skills they need support with is crucial. Being six years old, these students still learn best through play so these independent math centers will allow my students the opportunity to practice skills in areas they still need help through fun games. These centers would give my students a fun way to learn while successfully approaching the mastery of the Common Core State Standards for math. These math centers would also allow me time to work with students more closely, while the rest of the students are working independently.
